Sanivation is a social enterprise dedicated to improving the overall dignity, health, and environment of urbanizing communities in East Africa through delivering clean, safe, and efficient sanitation services.

Our Model

Treatment Plants

Deploying in partnership with local governments

We partner with local governments to help meet the growing waste processing need from septic tanks and pit latrines. We design, build, and operate treatment plants so that they can be operationally sustainable. The plants transform fecal sludge into biomass fuels. The revenue from the sales of fuel covers operational costs. Each plant that we deploy ensures waste is safely managed, creates local employment, prevents environmental pollution, and saves trees through our innovative biomass fuels.

Sanitation Services

Custom plan, design, and management services

We help our partners meet the demand for rapidly and locally deployable sanitation services. We work with partners to design, build, and train local staff on how to manage improved sanitation services that meet the environmental constraints and cultural aspirations of specific localities. We believe with the right systems all sanitation services can be clean, safe, and efficient. We also provide support on citywide inclusive sanitation planning, reuse business model development and a wide array of customized solutions to meet our partners sanitation needs.
